Day 8. 2009, a change.

Change,

That was what that new president said when he gained acces to the white house in Washington. I don't think he was talking about some spare coins in his pocket, so it should be really important and have a sense of reality. It's funny how the first black president in Amerika seems so loose and modern. He greeted his wife at the inauguration by putting his fist against hers. I can't really figure out if he really does that in a impulsive moment, or because some image expert told him to do so "cause it looks like you're from this century".


The new president Twitters, has a facebook account (he financed his whole election campaign by spreading the need for cash flow on Facebook...) and i`m pretty sure he plays World of Warcraft too.. Probably a paladin tank. If it turns out he's been a lieing bastard like any other president so far, he's definately a rogue. Or a priest, cause another thing people of his statue have a good habbit of is denying everything. And well this year proved that a certain priest liked to deny the entire holocaust. Well not the entire holocaust, just  the number of people that were murdered during the 5 year war.

This year was a weird one to be honest, i think next to the new american president, the current recession was the biggest news this year. Everybody talks about it, everybody notices it one way or another. The mexican flue was a much heard topic during lunch in offices. Personally for me this year was all about the attack on our royal family during Queensday. I was at home at the time it happened and saw it all live on the tv. First thing i thought was that it was part of the whole parade act. Then i saw real people flying over the road behind the car, the screams, the police officers running to the car. I fellt sick. Instantly. The same feeling when i watched the 9/11 attacks. Disbelief, not understanding what just happened. I walked around the town i live and it's supposed to be filled with people having fun and partying, but the entire centrum was deserted. A really odd atmoshphere during Queensday.. If you google "Queensday Amsterdam", or the dutch term "Koninginnendag Amsterdam". You get a idea of how massive this Holiday is for the dutch people. The entire country is having a party. Every town and city is celebrating our Queens birthday, it's by far the coolest holiday we dutchies have. And it got ruined by a mentally disturbed man in a matter of seconds. Every Queensday from now on will be reminded of last years tragedy.

Other news and happenings this year were the invasion of the mexican flu over the world, Some dutch teacher who got fired when he decided to live together with his boyfriend, yes, he got fired because he's gay. This year it is 40 years ago a man set foot on the moon for the first time, Sumatra got hit by a large earthquake taking 700+ lives and offcourse our dutch hero who saved America for beating the crap out of a FAILCAKE terrorist in a plane.


Our dutch hero earned around 18K USD participating in interviews and speaking with stupid talkshow hosts in his best dunglish*.

2010.. maybe we have a cool year ahead of us, we might even slip out of the current recession and become filthy rich. One really awesome thing to look forward to is our Guild meeting in Estonia. I have absolutely no idea what Estionia is like. For now I just imagine it being really really shit, so no matter what happens, it will be really cool ;)
